How can I become a doctor in India and Canada?

How many Canadian Medical exams would you need to pass to become a doctor in Canada?

  • So, if someone has ALREADY emigrated to Canada (from India), and studied in Ukraine, what would they need to do to become a doctor in Canada? Like, is there an exam? How many, what's it called? Thanks guyz

  • Answer:

FMGs or foreign medical graduates need to do a residency in Canada, and generally find it tough to get those slots. If you are not yet eligible to apply for a residency in Canada, then you need to enter and complete all of medical school in Canada Your prior training may or may not be helpful as Ukraine uses the Leninist Russian medical school model which does not translate well to the US and Canada. Of course, once you completed medical school in Canada, you would not be an FMG (or foreign medical graduate) and you would stand as good a chance of getting a residency as anyone else with the same talents, interests, med school professor recommendations and grades as you. Best wishes.
