My dryer does not heat up when it is hot outside?

Why does electric dryer give no heat?

  • My electric dryer worked good until today. The dryer moves the cycle but it is not giving off any heat. From what I read some people said it could be fuses. I turned my fuse box off and on but my dryer still gives off no heat. Is this a simple repair or should I call a repair man?

    Not enough info. I need a brand and model number. I also need to know if it had been taking longer & longer to dry before it quit heating completely. Very few dryers have resettable fuses inside. It could be the heater element, a thermal fuse, a thermal cutoff or even the timer. Also, you access the inside of different dryers in different ways. Some are easier than others.

I assume you turned your "circuit breaker" off and then on and not fuses. FIRST unplug the dryer!!! Your dryer probably has an internal breaker to protect it. If there is too big a load so it wont turn around the internal breaker will open and prevent a fire. In most dryers it is not easy to get to this breaker. I don't know why. You can try to fix it by taking off the back and looking for the heater coils. somewhere close to these coils there should be a little plastic box with a button on it. If you press that button and it clicks you are good to go after you put it all back together. Good luck.
