Dizziness everyday what could it mean?

What does stiff neck and dizziness mean?

  • Went to the doctor on my follow up for a blood test that I took on Thursday. I was sick the whole week last week from dehydration and low potassium. Now I'm getting dizzy on the left side of my head, a stiff neck, a feeling like there is something stuck on the left side of my throat and in the morning when I wake up on the left side of my head it feels like it's falling asleep but my body and the right side feel wide awake. I told this to my doctor and she doesn't know what it is. She said it could be allergies and to take Claritin OTC. She didn't look in my ears but she felt behind my ears and said it feels normal. Doesn't seem like I have a ear infection and she told me to open my mouth & my throat looks normal. I do have a cavity since January and I've been putting it off until I can afford to get my root canal or extraction. I have a cavity that is cracked on the right side of my mouth. My insurance doesn't pay for either so I have to wait until I get some money saved up before I get either. Do you think it could be from my teeth? My doctor said it doesn't look like I have any kind of infection. My blood test came back and I have High Cholesterol & Pre-Diabeties but my doctor didn't give me anything for the Cholosterol. She told me just to exercise at least twice a week and stop eating Fast Food. If I want to eat Fast Food that I should eat it once every 2 weeks instead of every other day. Does High Cholesterol or Pre-Diabetes cause these symptoms? I'm trying to figure out if it's from that or my teeth. I do have TMJ though.

  • Answer:

A stiff neck is typically characterized by soreness and difficulty moving the neck - especially when trying to turn the head to the side. A stiff neck may also be accompanied by a headache, shoulder pain and/or arm pain, and cause the individual to turn the entire body as opposed to the neck when trying to look sideways or backwards. I've never had it but my friend does all the time and he says it sux

Having a high cholesterol could trigger a high blood pressure. So the stiff neck thing is a sign and the dizziness you feel can also be factors of having hypertension. Don't just put this for granted but instead treat it before you suffer from a stroke. It still baffles me why your doctor didn't even bother to give you a medicine to lower your cholesterol level. I suggest you visit other doctors than this.
