Does Accutane cause INFERTILITY in women?

• I've had a bad case of cystic acne for about 5 years now. I went to my family physician, who told me that she was ready to put me on accutane (I'm not sure if general physicians are allowed to prescribe accutane in canada). I talked to my parents about it, but they did not agree. They say it causes many long term side effects, like damage to the liver and other organs, and the worst of all, infertility. I have done some research and seen some horrible comments on the public discussion sites, like how they took accutane a few years ago and now they are infertile, causes unexplained! Is this true? Does accutane really cause infertility?? It's been five years and acne has lowered my self-esteem to such an extent, that I don't feel like going in public anymore! The only place I don't get breakouts are my eye-lids, the rest of my face is covered in acne, deep scars and dark spots. I even get breakouts on my neck and below my ears every once in a while. I just want to put an end to this, so I really need to find out if accutane does cause infertility. My doctor has not told me so, but still I'm not satisfied. Please help me, I would highly appreciate any answers!!

  Accutane is a retinoid. A drug made from vitamin A. Lots of side effects. It causes birth defects when taken during pregnancy. Long term infertility unknown. I was reading about Mawson who was in the antartic in 1912 and ate his dog's livers to survive. this is mega overdose of vitamin A. He married and had kids. Have you tried the natural cure, taking double the RDA of vitamin A daily and never, ever, touching your face?
