Why do my eyes tear for no reason?

Dry Eyes and Mouth don't know what to do anymore.?

• Hello there! I'm 19 and around 3 years ago I've experienced a change in my health. I have dry eyes and mouth. Had my saliva checked, bad quality (really sour) and too low amount (but no inflammation was found at my salivary glands). Eyes: I produce enough tears but the quality of my tear (fat layer) isn't good (after blinking my eyes it gets dry again after 4-5 secs instead 15-20). I have change in taste, dry skin, often nausea, tiredness, abdominal pain, diarrhea and was also diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome. The docs thought it might be Sjögrens syndrome but after today at the eye doc she said it's very unlikely that I'd have it. Now I am completely clueless. I even got off my meds to see if it might have caused it but it hasn't. Now she came up with the idea that maybe my allergies might play a role in it. I am aware that I have allergies. Can allergies cause a bad quality of saliva and tears? I've never heard of it before. shall I go to the rheumatologist or immunology specialist. I do not know. If you have any tips or experiences please write! :) I already thank you up front :). I am just at the point that I can't handle things anymore. next to being exhausted for no reason 24/7 doesn't help.

  I feel that I am in the same boat as you. I apologize that you must endure this because it has seriously affected my standard of living. I have Celiac disease and I am going to get tested for some more autoimmune diseases next week (Lupus, Sjögrens syndrome, etc...). I have read somewhere that allergies might be to blame so I think going to an allergy specialist might be helpful. But be aware that anti-histamines can cause dryness so if you take them on a regular basis they can exasperate the problem. I plan to get my allergies tested too and see if they might be to blame.
