You do not have a choice (at least in the US) as to what doctorate you earn if you want to become a lawyer, you must earn a Juris Doctor (or JD) for short. You have to go to law school to earn a JD. You must earn a bachelors degree and take the LSAT to go to law school. YOu can major in anything you want, but most law school bound students major in something that helps develop the most important law school skills, reading and writing so they major in history, english, political science etc. Just note the legal job market is BAD right now and many law school grads are literally working in restuarants and have over $100,000 in debt from law school. Not a good time to go to law school.
