What are the requirements to get a job a in fine dining restaurant (NYC)?

• I am 18 years old from NYC, I have been working in a diner as a waitress for about a year, this is my first job as a server.. I think I might do this for a while until graduating from college. I am thinking about getting a better job in a restaurant eventually, so I would like to know what are the requirements? ... What do you need to know? .. Do they usually hire when you don;t have much experience in serving people?

  Honestly, at most fine dining restaurants in areas of NYC, they hire based off looks. They tell you that they don't discriminate, but it's completely true. That is the image they like to uphold. You said "fine dining", so I imagine you are talking about a really expensive steakhouse or something along those lines. Regular dining, it's not the same. Anyway, nothing. At any place, you go through training for that job. In training you will learn everything.
