How do you go about becoming a stockbroker?

How do you go about becoming a stockbroker? do you always need a degree to become one?

  • also what is it like working as a stockbroker? thanks!=)

  • Answer:

Typically need a finance degree and then you have to become licensed to be a broker. It's a pretty crappy job at first when you're trying to build your customer base. Wtih long hours and hard work it can be quite lucrative though.

Your better off being a financial analyst and yes you need a finance degree most of the time. Also to be a broker you need Series 7 and a million other series licenses from finra and you need to be sponsored to get them. Good luck to you.

The most important skill you can have as a stock broker is Sales. Don't ever lose sight of that point. Most brokers want a college degree (not all). Business/Finance is best, but many successful brokers have a liberal arts degree.
