The settlers wore the same clothing that peasants in France for work they also adopted Indian fashion such as buckskins and Indian dresses. Shoes and boots were scarce luxury items for sometime so settlers wore Indian moccasins. Wealthy settlers wore tight fitting pants, frock coats, silver buckles for very special occasions.
