S4O6 ^-2 suppose O.number of sulphur is = x u shud know that O.number of oxygen is = -2 S4O6 ^-2 4(x) + 6(-2) = -2 4x - 12 = -2 x = 10/4 x = 5/2 oxidation number for one sulfur will be " 5/2"
