Why is my scar so much darker than the rest of my skin?

Bad skin on my penis...?

  • I'm 27 years old and mostly healthy. I'm in a monogamous relationship and we don't generally use condoms. A couple of months ago I developed some red skin on my penis after a lot of sex, and it's never really healed since then. I try to cut down on sex and masturbation but inevitably after a few days one or the other one occurs, and whatever healing had taken place is reversed - the skin turns red and starts peeling, and is sensitive to the touch, sometimes even making sex or masturbation painful. It seems like it's obvious to just stay disciplined and refrain from sexual activities until it clears up, but every time I try to wait it seems like the skin heals up to a point but never gets back to 100%. Maybe it's just a matter of waiting long enough, but I wonder if this is something deeper - not only is it very slow to heal, but after the initial redness, the skin in the affected area looks dry and leathery, almost like scar tissue. Could I have caused a buildup of scar tissue on my penis by not giving it enough rest? Is the reason it keeps getting red because the skin is no longer "normal skin?" That would be terrible... or might I have a yeast infection, or some other skin condition, that's causing my skin to be unnaturally dry or sensitive? How long would such a condition be expected to last without treatment? How long would normal "cock burn" take to heal? Thanks for any advice... I also know I should go to a doctor but I've been to a few and none of them have been especially helpful.

I assume its from going at it to hard by yourself otherwise your girlfriend must be extremely rough in more ways then one. I would say what you are already thinking, that you just need to let it heal. although maybe you could try some type of cream or something to help the healing process and keep the skin conditioned. If you abstain from all sexual activity for a few days and it doesn't go away I would probably seek a qualified doctor to get an appropriate response.

Ah yes, I had this too. It looks like the skin on your penis is peeling but it isn't. It's a yeast infection, go to your doctor and get some anti fungal lotion prescribed for you, I had lotriderm took care of it in 2 weeks or so.

HI Bob,...wounds to the penile skin heal very rapidly due to the high amount of blood flow into this area of the body. If the wound has not healed long ago, then something else is wrong. I am going to take a guess at a yeast infection. Yeast infections just happen and are not a sign of infidelity or lack of cleanliness. They are in the air, on the toilet seat, in the locker room etc. Your partner may also carry the yeast infection and never manifest signs of it herself. Go to the drug store and look in the mens health aisle for a product to treat jock itch. If you cannot find one, go to the women's hygiene aisle and look for a product to treat vaginal yeast infections,...Monistat, Vagisil, or Canesten,....they will all work. Apply the cream and if it is a yeast infection, you will notice immediate results. Continue to apply the cream until the instructions on the tube tell you to stop,...not just till the symptoms disappear. You will also have to treat your partner or it will just get passed on too you again. Hope this helped. Mithras
