How do fingernails grow?

How to grow fingernails back?

  • I chewed my fingernails down pretty deep and I want to grow them back. Problem is, isn't is so that if NOW I let them grow, theyd be all dead and yellow instead of the normal clear color? If so, how can I grow them and make them back to their clear color?

  • Answer:

I don't know what your concern is. they will grow back naturally no matter what (i'm almost 100% positive) but a quicker way to grow them back, is with water. I've heard that water helps the growth process and it certainly has with mine. Also, if you want a tip to stop biting your nails, is to try and find another habit like instead of biting them, pick them. And you can also put clear nailpolish on them so it tastes awful if you try and bite them. Good luck :)

Keep your fingers out of your mouth...saliva is not the best thing for them. Your nails will need to be left alone except for manicuring (clipping) for some time before they will start to grow good side beds and be nice looking. IF when they grow out there are white areas, you may have nail fungus. Consult with a doctor to get rid of it IF you have it. Stick with it. Nothing shows nervous problems and lack of confidence like bitten nails...not a good look for a man. Good luck, GW
