Can somebody help me introduce myself in portuguese?

Help with understanding Japanese Translation of a song?

  • I've been stuck on the song Super Mario Hyadain (Western Show on Super Mario World) for a while now, and I know the English translation only through subtitles. I want to study the lyrics a bit to understand the translation, but because translations aren't very literal, Google Translating the words doesn't work at all. Also, I can only find the lyrics in Romaji, so knowing which Kanji to put in Translate (without knowing many of the Kanji at all) is even more difficult. I used to study Japanese, and I was almost good at it (though nowhere near fluent), but I dropped it and only just picked it up again today. I hate badly dubbed animes (though subtitles aren't so bad), but I'd love to be able to both read and listen to Japanese and understand it so that I don't have to spend days looking for translations or professionally subbed animes. I don't think I'll ever be fluent in Japanese, but a loose understanding that would allow me to read manga and watch anime without *too* much trouble would be good enough for me. Anyway, back on topic, can somebody help me line-by-line understand how to translate the song (literally for understanding of grammar, and in English for understanding of how the translation works)? Hey, Kuppa, kimme tte sa shitsukosugiru ze (Hey, Koopa, you're such a stubborn fellow) Piichi no koto wa mou akiramenayo (Why don't you give up on Peach?) (Wait,is the mic still on?) Ee mai de? Yabee! (Is it? My bad!)

  • Answer:

I think those subtitles are good and you can rely on them. As for your request, it will be too long to break up whole song and explain each word. For example kimi tte sa shitsukosugiru ze kimi > you tte > colloquial way to say "to iu (hito or mono)", in this case it can be replaced with "wa" sa > particle shitukosugiru > shitukoi(stubborn) + sugiru(pass), "adjective" + sugiru > beyond the line of "adjective" > too "adjective, in this case "too stubborn" ze > particle So literally it means "Hey, Kuppa, you are too stubborn" It's only one sentence. So you can imagine.
