How acceptable are self-citations?

How do you do citations for a brief paper?

  • I'm working on a brief document that I plan to incorporate some statistics and citations into. It's not a formal essay and probably will not be longer than 1 or 2 paragraphs, if a paragraph structure is even utilized. How do you do citations for such a brief document? I know all about APA and MLA citations for formal research papers, but this a document that will probably be less than half a page in length. Should a "Works Cited" just be incorporated at the bottom, or should I take a different approach? (This a document for work that I'll be mailing to local legislators as part of a packet)

  • Answer:

let it be crisp, short, to the point & with the name of the person, so that it cannot be even legally challenged. nowadays, politics is becoming more commercial, money minded, & hence a young reporter like you must be doubly careful. All the best !

The best, most impressive way is to do it absolutely correctly. Do it like an end note for a chapter, or for a foot note. I'm a free lance writer, and to make sure I get it correct I look it up every time. Try this cite for the info you need: http://isu.indstate.edu/ilnprof/ENG451/ISLAND/ It's THE best place for an MLA reference. Good luck, Patrice
