How do you make Floating chinese lanterns?

Why don't they make smaller sky lanterns?

• The chinese sky lanterns (like the ones featured in "Tangled") are for sale all over. However, they are all about 40 inches in height. Is there a reason why no one sells smaller sky lanterns? Even when I see do-it-yourself videos, people always make them huge. I have an idea to do this for a wedding using the 100% biodegradable lanterns, but would prefer them to be smaller in size. Is it because there is no way to make the flame smaller so as not to burn the top? Please respond if you really know the answer. Thanks!!! :)

  It's because smaller sky lanterns don't fly well. They need enough hot air inside the lantern to get good lift off and stay up a smaller lantern doesn't hold enough hot air to do that. I work for a company that sells sky lanterns, we've gotten samples of smaller lanterns from China before and they just didn't fly.
