Halo 2 PC or Killing Floor?

I had switched to PC a long time ago and I really miss Halo and I was thinking of getting Halo 2 PC but people say that the servers are down or there aren't that many people on. I was also thinking of getting Killing Floor because since I've read these rumors(IMO) I don't think it would be smart to purchase Halo 2 PC. Any tips?
