What are some good bands?

I need help finding some new music. What are some good classic bands?

  • I just recently got 50$ for my itunes account so I need to spend that on some good music. Just so you know, I typically buy greatest hits albums, which I know is lame, but it is honestly the best use of my limited money so that's what I do. The bands I like are the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Byrds, the Velvet Underground, Simon and Garfunkel, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, The Who, Genesis, King Crimson, etc. Based on these bands (that I already own a lot of music by so don't make any recomendations of their music), what are some good classic bands I should look into. Remember, I am looking for I nice greatest hits album that I can get a good deal on so keep that in mind.

I quite like some of the bands you mentioned so for what it's worth, here's some others I listen to: Queen, Simple Minds, Deep Purple, Cold Play, Eric Clapton, Ramones, Sting/Police, U2, INXS, and The Vaccines. Hope you find some more nice tunes! :o)

- The album, Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd is fantastic. Their album, Echoes, is their greatest hits and that is also good. - If you like Genesis and King Crimson, you might like Rush. Check the sample first though, some people don't like his voice. The music is excellent though. - I have both of The Eagles greatest hits albums and those are very good as well.

Nazareth ~ "Greatest Hits" Dire Straits ~ "Private Investigations" {1-disc or 2-disc versions} Jethro Tull ~ "The Very Best Of" Mike Oldfield ~ "The Complete Mike Oldfield" Vinegar Joe ~ "Speed Queen of Ventura - An Introduction To" Sandy Denny ~ "No More Sad Refrains: The Anthology" Fleetwood Mac ~ "Greatest Hits"[1971] // "Greatest Hits"[1988] // "The Very Best Of"[2002 / 2009] {1-disc version is 1967-1998; 2-disc is all 1975-1998} I'd also recommend the band Stone the Crows, but they don't have a 'Best Of'.
