I want to know if I can record rap vocals at home and then bring them to the studio to have them mixed.?

I want to take a closet add some foam and go buy a Rode NT1A and a Tascam US-144 usb interface. Then I want to record and then bring my vocals to the studio and him mix them. Is this possible? I want to save money because recording and mixing at the studio adds up. Should i just keep recording at the studio? www.majin.bandcamp.com you can check out my music there. Also the first track called Memoirs of a Reaper was recorded at my old house and then the ad libs and hook were recorded at the studio. Mind you this studio is a home studio as well but the guy knows what he's doing. So again... can i record at my house and bring my vocals to the studio to get mixed? Please let me know asap. Thank you.

Answer:
H'mmm Actually you go to the recording studio for soundproofing (and nothing else except maybe higher quality recording equipment than you have at home....) and then you could mix them at home on the computer. You can also build a soundproof booth at home... you dont need to go to a studio at all ever ever ever ever with todays technology you can do it far more cheaply at home. you just need decent software. you can record the tracks at home, then mix them in the studio software, then they need to be MASTERED but you can do that by recording the whole thing in separate tracks and then you can email them to someone to do for you. then you can "bounce" the tracks into one, and send the finished product in another email to a cd burning company and get them mass produced, remembering to send the artwork and etc in the same email no, you never need to leave home. And if you dont want to burn cds, you can just digitally produce them and sell them straight from the internet, and again you never have to leave home. PS, you cant just add foam to a closet and expect it to work, it wont. Ive seen a LOT of articles on the internet that say all you have to do is put foam inside a closet, its not true, you need a room INSIDE a room. I own a recording studio and I also have one at home. Recording studios are for RECORDING and nothing else. NOT writing, NOT practicing, NOT anything BUT recording. You could go to a musicians classifieds site and find an engineer that will do the work for you cheaper. FROM their home, or they can come to you...

I don't see why not. You can record where ever you want. The quality sounds good, so there shhouldn't be a problem with it.
