Why do my eyes feel cold?

Sometimes my eyes feel reallyyy heavy when there's sunlight? why?

  • Okay, this is really weird. It's only happened to me like 4 times in like 5 years (4th time was this afternoon). So I can just be walking/sitting outside and there's sunshine/hot weather (australia...). For some strange reason, sometimes my eyes will feel ridiculously heavy and will just close because they can't bare to look at the sunlight. I'll try my damn hardest to reopen but it's literally so hard to. I will get like half way and it feels like my eyelids have massive weights on them that they literally cannot open. I'll be blinded for like a good 5-10mins. It's hard to describe. It sounds like I'm exaggerating, but I'm not. It's just really weird how heavy my eyes will feel at the time and I really can't open them. And yeah, this has happened only a few times, all at really inconvient times to (when shopping in the city, waiting for the bus at bus stop!). Embarrassing too cause I can't see and it's scary haha. My eyes aren't that sensitive to light though and even if they were, surely it wouldn't do that to my eyes? I'm 17 female btw

  • Answer:

I live in Australia too and i've experienced something like this before. Where i've walked outside and randomly the sun makes my eyelids heavy and they slam shut and like crunch together. They wont even relax they are like really trying not to open lol and my eyes usually water like crazy so it looks like i all of a sudden started to cry. Im not too worried as like you, its only happened a few times and its not a very big deal to me it goes away and its fine. I just assume its one of those things we all get. Like how we can get random unprovoked aches in our joints and back or aches somewhere, muscle twitching. Its all the same to me. If you are truly worried about the health status of your eyes. You should see an optometrist just in case. After all, they would know a lot more than Yahoo people only telling you guesses as they arent looking directly into your eyeball like an optometrist can. Good luck! Hope for the best!
