Is checking the status of a job application worth it?

Checking up on job application?

  • I filled out a job application for Hot Topic, I had a recommendation letter attached to the application. I went into the store to check up on my application on Saturday, the manager looked over my application and seemed impressed by the attached letter. He then told me that he would been looking through the applications on Monday. Today is Monday and I've yet to hear anything, should I call to check up on the application again? Or would that be just annoying?

    Wait until next Monday or so to contact him. He's really busy with other responsibilities and this isn't his main priority right now. Just be patient and if he doesn't contact you on Friday, give him a call on Monday and politely ask what the status of your application is.

Wait until Friday to call...................he's NOT going through the applications today and that takes time plus he must also work.
