How can I get a job in accounting and do I have to be good at math ?

When you want to be an accountant or an engineer, you should be good in math because these jobs you will be dealing in numbers.

Accounting is concerned with adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. There is no "hard math" involved in accounting so even if you're terrible at algebra, calculus, geometry, etc, you have the potential to be an accountant. Engineering math is completely different and much harder. The other side of accounting is learning the laws, rules, principles, and types. This is a lot harder than the math, trust me. Information is key-and it's constantly changing. To get a job in accounting you will need at least a bachelors degree. You can become a bookkeeper with just an associates degree (and maybe less?), but that is not the same as being an accountant. If you want to be a CPA you will need a masters degree in some states. This allows you to do many more things in the field, including audit public companies. You should have a good idea of what type of accounting you want to be by the time you're a junior in college. There are many different routes you can take and they vary greatly depending on which you choose. Get into a good school, preferably a business school. When you're in college you should get an internship as it wil give you a great learning experience and also help you get a job when you graduate. A career in accounting is recession proof, so it is absolutely possible to get a job in accounting (once you meet the requirements).
