Is this true??? Question about RESUME'S for a current "Stay-at-home-Mom" ! --?
-
I heard that if you haven't been working for 1 + years (closer to 2), you have to wipe your resume clean and start it over. As in clear your work history from before you stopped working and start all over again from a blank slate (or at least keeping only your 1 or 2 most recent jobs on the resume). Is that true? If I haven't worked for a long time, do I have to clear my resume and start all over again? I hope my question makes sense. I ask because I would like to start working again at some sort of part-time job soon. I haven't worked since September 2010 when I was ordered to cease and go on bed-rest during my pregnancy, and I haven't worked anywhere since. My previous work history certainly isn't anything admirable, but I'm only 22 yrs old and don't exactly have a lot to put on the list, anyway. I'd feel pretty pathetic if I had to hand in a resume with no previous work experience listed at my age if I don't have too, if you know what I mean. So, again, if I want to start working again, am I going to have to wipe my slate (resume) clean, say I've been off work and a stay at home Mom since Oct 30th, 2010 and just go from there? See what happens?.... Your help/experiences/advice in this matter would be GREATLY appreciated. THANK YOU! x

Answer:
Not true! You've got to show experience for your job skills. Oh, do you have any job skills? Take a few months to get credentials at the community college. There may be short courses. You have experience for daycare. Massage therapist takes 6 months at a massage school and you can make your own schedule. Beauty school takes about 18 months and you can make your own schedule after you've established your clientele.
