Medical career choices?

Medical career choices?

  • Hey guys, I'm having trouble deciding what career path I should take. I'm torn between nursing or actually going for my doctorate to pursue family medicine. I know I can do it but not sure I want to go to school that long. I currently volunteer at my local community hospital and I love it. I'm currently attending community college, but I want to decide what to do before I take anymore classes to prevent myself from wasting my time. Please any help will be appreciated. I'm currently taking my general education classes, I have about a 3.6-3.7 G.P.A out of 4.0. I'm in a Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and I do a ton of volunteer work that is medical related. I also work part-time as well. Would I even be a good candidate for medical school? I also have about 5 professional references so far which include doctors and nurses. Please let me know! Thanks!

You would need a higher GPA for med school. You don't go for a doctorate to become a doctor you go for a medical degree. You need a degree before you apply to med school.
