How does a basic RN become a Surgical Nurse?

How to become an RN Nurse?

  • This is my first semester at a community college and I'm currently only taking reading and english. What other classes are required to become an RN nurse. Starting from basics and up. Thank you very much for the information ((:

  • Answer:

You need to talk to your school (or whatever school you are considering transferring to if your current school does not have an RN program) and take whatever they tell you to take. The most common pre-requisite courses that must be complete prior to being able to apply to the nursing program are biology, chemistry, anatomy & physiology, and perhaps a few others like microbiology, nutrition, medical terminology, psychology. It will vary from school to school on what they require. You will also need other common courses like English Composition, speech communications, sociology, arts/humanities/electives, etc.
