Can a gif picture be posted on facebook wall?

I was wondering what would happens if I post a gif file on my facebook wall. It is going to be show animated? I don't recall seeing anybody posting this on facebook.

You can post but its not moveable. You can see only the beginning part of photos.

Facebook currently do not support animated GIF files as they consider them unsightly & distracting. A shame as some of them can be pretty funny. But then it would probably drive you nuts if everyone has flashing & changing pictures.
