How can I manually block websites?

How can I block websites based on keywords?

  • Say for example that my son goes on YouTube and Google and types in "Angry Grandpa" or "Modern Warfare" so he can find and watch Rated R videos that he isn't supposed to watch. How can I automatically block those websites based on the keywords he uses instead of having to go and block each website one at a time?

  • Answer:

Try some smart parental control app like acespy or website blocker: http://www.monitoring-softwares.com/ It can help block sites with keywords.

Parental control software will help you block sites. I use Verity. It allows you to enter in the keywords and will block any site with those keywords. It is also free, unlike most of the parental control software out there.

If you have a router, log into it and find the "Blocked Sites" or similar term depending on your router. Add the key words you want blocked and apply. Now every computer connected to your wifi will be blocked from accessing sites that have the key words in their url.

Install BlockAllow http://www.blockallow.com and add search words to the blocked list
