How do i put a background on GIMP 2.6?

Don't like background of tattoo. What are my options?

• I got a tattoo yesterday and I'm not pleased with the outcome. I got a dragonfly with a black design underneath it. The guy didn't do the background like I wanted it and it is too dark also. He said the black background design will fade a lot. Idk what he was thinking when he put the "stripes" in the background.

  The tattoo will fade and in time you will come to be ok with the tattoo. Tats always look really good the day of then they get ugly a few hours later when they start to heal. Once it's healed you can go back in and work with it. I would suggest going and talking to your artist and telling him your concerns and having him help you find something you like. Unless you don't trust him after what he did and if so find a new artist. Remember you wear their work on you all day everyday so if they have an unhappy client it spreads quick and hits hard.
