Why is my tongue sore?

Why is my tongue piercing sore? ?

  • i got my tongue pierced about 2 months and a bit and its randomly painful. it healed fine in about 2 weeks but yesterday and today there is like a swollen circle around it and its quite painful. The whole tongue itself isnt swollen just around the piercing. is it just irritated with playing with it too much..if so should i take it out and do a salt rinse and put it back in or what?

  • Answer:

As tongue piercings take 1-3 months to heal, you may have bitten your tongue in a way that ripped the "scab" around part of your piercing, which could have made it tender. It's happened with my tongue piercing before. Just be gentle with it.

I would take it out and leave it out.People talk strangly when they have them and they are a perfect site for infections.I am not against piercings, have many in different areas of ears but tongues are a breeding ground for bacteria.

It's sore because it's a hole in your tongue.

i wouldn't take it out, just do a salt rinse with it in (:
