Why do I get headaches when I work out?

I tend to get headaches at school/work but no where else.. ?

  • When I was in high school I would get migraines all the time. Like around ten I would develop a dull ache and by the end of the day it would be a full blown migraine since I've graduated the amount of migraines I get has decreased but now I have an office job and the same thing is happening! Do you think it could be the lights that are aggravating my head? They are the same really bright overhead kind. Or could it be from staring down and working? I drink a lot of water by the way so that is not it.

  • Answer:

What kind of comedy do you like? Personally I love Jim Gaffigan and to a lesser extent, John Pinette. Daniel Tosh sucks balls, so it's whatever you think.

Hello, I'm not a doctor, but there's a lot of information about headaches out there. Information about migraines tells us that it can definitely be the cause of sensory stimuli (bright lights like you said) or stress, two very common things we experience in school and work. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/migraine-headache/DS00120/DSECTION=causes This website gives you information about several every day things that can trigger headaches and if you go to the side of the page you can find information about how to treat migraines. There is also the possibility that it's a tension headache. These headaches are caused by a combination of stress to the neck and stress in general. Posture can affect headaches greatly, which leads to pain starting in the neck and working its way up to your head. These types of headaches can become chronic and they are easily caused by sitting at desks and/or staring at computers throughout the day. http://www.headaches.org/education/Headache_Topic_Sheets/Tension-Type_Headache Good luck and I hope you feel better!
