How do you get into University of Pennsylvania?

Could I get into the University of Pennsylvania?

  • The University of Pennsylvania is my dream school and I have wanted to go there since I was little. I’m a junior in high school and I plan to apply next year in the fall, but I’m not sure if my SAT scores are high enough to get in, but I’ve already taken it three times. I’m pretty smart, but I get nervous when I take standardized tests. My best score is a 1940, with a 1310 on just the critical reading and math sections. I have not yet taken the ACT, but I plan to next month. I have a 4.0 GPA and I am the valedictorian of my class. I have taken six AP classes between my sophomore and junior year and I plan to take six more next year. I received 5’s on both of the exams I took last year. I have an array of other honors classes. I’m involved in a lot of extracurricular activities, such as soccer, track, National Honor Society, theater, National Art Honor Society, band, and Tri-M Music Honor Society. I volunteer at the local animal shelter often and I have had job experience. Assuming I could write a decent essay for my application, do you think I have a chance of getting into the University of Pennsylvania? Also, if you have any recommendations of anything else I could do to improve my chances of getting in, I would greatly appreciate that.

  • Answer:

Ok, lets look at the facts, for the GPA, yes you are doing really well, being valedictorian too, but lots of people going into University of Pennsylvania have a 4.0 too. To boost up your chances, you need to get your SAT score higher, the average of one that gets in has above a 2000, but don't be discouraged, your extracurricular definitely helps, dude i think you are amazing, with all those extra curricular, i think maybe join a club or 2? try to be an officer in the club, that will make your chances even higher! You are in really good shape right now, i think you really have a shot, but don't slack off! Good luck, i hope you get in! if you want some specific info, here you go http://collegeprowler.com/university-of-pennsylvania/statistics/
