How can I become a movie actress?

  • I haven't left my secondary school yet but I have decided that i want to be a movie actress. But my problem is I don't know how to get there and what is the best advice to take. I was inspired by watching the film (The Hunger Games) and at that moment I decided I wanted to become an actress and work in films just like The Hunger Games. Please could someone give me some advice of how to achieve my dream of becoming an actress! I go to a drama school and have taken part in several productions now and decided I want to take it to the next level and get on a film set as soon as I can! Please does anyone know any advice I could take?

    Get yourself enrolled in introduction to on camera acting classes at a legitimate school and work your way up. It's a slow process but it all starts with acting classes because you can build connections with people who actually work in the business. Keep taking classes to perfect your craft and audition for student films and non-paying roles to build your experience. Create a demo reel to show your range and to display your talent. Once you think you've built a solid foundation, find a legitimate agency and get yourself an agent in order to audition for roles in feature films and shows. This part is slow but be willing to work at it. *Remember: if an agency requires you to pay up front, they are a scam. Do your research. A legitimate agency will need you to audition for them and if they decide to take you on, they will NEVER ask you to pay since they receive a percentage of what you earn if you get a role. Becoming am movie actress is pretty much sheer luck. It's all about networking & who you know. It's a lot of hard work. If you're really serious, you should try to find auditons for little things like commercials or anything really. Then, hire an agent. An agent will help you book auditions & he might know a few people. Movie acting is MUCH different than stage acting. More talent is required in order to be a stage actor because it's more imperative to show your emotions & exaggerate everything. Anyhow, it's good your in drama school, and don't give up! But just remember that the likelihood of being a movie actress like Angelina Jolie & such is pretty slim.
