Would individuals who regularly go fishing ever accept that fish can feel pain or be subjected to stress?
-
Even if it was proven scientifically beyond any doubt?

Answer:
dear stu, how many times did you watch bambi as a child. there is a true mental imbalance called "the bambi syndrome". more commonly referred to as anthropomorphism. n. attribution of human motivation, characteristics, or behavior to inanimate objects, animals, or natural phenomena. look. right there. second word. this is exactly what you are doing with fish. it has been scientifically proven that fish have a primitive nervous system that makes it impossible for them to feel pain. their brain HAS NOT developed the capacity to feel fear, happiness, STRESS or any other characteristic you may try to embue them with. the absolute closest you will get for any sea creature will be a cetacean. a whale or dolphin which don't happen to be fish or did you not know that too. the so-called "facts" you are touting have all been proven to be false. PETA is lying to you, to other children and anyone else gullible enough to believe them. fish are at the very bottom of their list of sentient beings along with insects. do you NOT kill a spider or swat a fly? go running in fear from a horrible honeybee? then you are absolute proof yourself that PETA, their henchmen and all that they stand for are false. now, go away before someone mistakes you for an intelligent being.

it's a fish, not anything else, unable to feel anything.Proven scientifically already,it's a fish, food for every other living thing.Made that way on purpose without emotion.rudimentary brain for it's use to eat reproduce and feed other creatures, that's it,a stupid fish.Don't make it more than it is.Subjected to stress, being starved of oxygen, physiologically yes, would die, then you could cook it and eat it like it was meant to be food."cause that's what it's purpose is.Take your fish to a therapist to evaluate it's stress level then give it prozac you moron.

Do not give me this c**p about fish feeling pain from a hook, it is total rubbish. A trout will feed on sticklebacks for a lot of its life. Now, even you, must know that sticklebacks have very sharp spines and a trout will happily eat them all day, without feeling pain. The same can be said for when pike eat perch, the spines on even a small perch would go through your hand. Get a life, you are an embaressment to the UK.

I accept that they feel stress, however with the pain thing...as I understand it the scientific consensus is no, they don't feel pain like mammals do. If the scientists got together and decided they were wrong about that, yes I would accept it. I would still go fishing though.

Have we not been through this? My dear monkey? You see, science has proven that there are no, or very few nerves at the sides of the mouth and top and bottom lip. Therefore, they will feel little, to no pain. If you were to hook them in the wrong place, like a gill or stomach, or eye, or gut they will indeed feel some sort of pain or discomfort, but not as much as we can. Of course they will experience stress, they are suddenly being dragged out of the water. And then once out of the water they cannot breath. THIS, is why it is important to inform yourself of proper fish handling BEFORE you intend to release fish. Or, before you intend to ask stupid questions like this. BUT, if your fighting time is brief, your hook is in the right place, and your release quick. The fish will gain little stress, and will live on as if nothing had happened. NOW, I have a question for you my simple undeserving life form. Would individuals (like you) who regularly go trolling (and not in the boat sense) ever accept that they are idiots who simply waste their time? Even if it was proven scientifically beyond any doubt? Good luck, fishing yourself out of the hole you just made... "Fishin influenced games.. Games influenced me"
Bruce
Yes I would though it's not true and bruce said it. Where not like those idiot hunters here who refuse to accept anything that goes against what they want. I'm a hunter to but not that type.

Would you accept that trolling a segment of an open board for your own political agenda is annoying and on the borderline of crossing the rules as stated by Yahoo Answers?
