Fishing for catfish setup?

Whats the best rig setup while fishing for catfish? Also what is the best bait for catfish? And what type of hook should I use? And i am fishing in a pond.

You can probably use any medium action rod and your favorite reel. For terminal tackle just use an egg sinker or any sinker so it can freely move up and down the line. Then a swivel to stop the sinker from going all the way to the bait. The hook with. chicken livers are one of the best baits because you can get them cheap, but ive heard of smelt, commercial or homemade stink baits, hot dog pieces, or crawlers.
