• for my A2 essay ive got to write something about how artists capture perspective and space on a 2D surface ( basicly how they create / use space in their work) i dont know what to put or how to start it HELP

  It was Brunelleschi who came up with the "one point perspective" technique which is how the artists has a "vanishing point" from which they make the rest of the picture fade back into & look 3D. There is also a "two point perspective". Anyways, they figured all of this out in the Rennisance when people were focused on making art as life-like as they could. Before this point, paintings didn't have depth. If you search the terms I put in "quotes" you would be on the right path, you can also look up something like "one point perspective, rennisance" and you would likely find some historical context for it also.
