First, select the text you want to double space. TGo do this, click the curser at the start of the text, hold down the left mouse button, and drag until you have highlighted all the text you want to double space. Release the mouse button and move the cursor up to the menu bar at the top. Click on Format. The drop down menu should give you the option 'Paragraph'. If it doesn't, click on the little arrow on the drop down menu and you will see the 'Paragraph' option. Click on it and a box opens. In that box is a smaller box headed 'Line spacing'. Use the little arrow to open the drop down list and select 'Double'. PRESTO!

Calm down. Go into the format tab at the top of the screen then click on the paragraph tab. Find where it says line spacing and scoll down to double space. Piece of cake right!? Hope I helped. Good luck on the paper! :o)

Open Microsoft Word and the document you wish to modify. Highlight the text you wish to have double spaced or select all. Right-click the selected text and click Format. Click Paragraph. In the Paragraph window under spacing change from Single to Double and then click Ok.

Double spacing is set through the Format menu, Paragraphs option. In the middle section of the Paragraph window entitled Spacing, you will find the Line spacing options on the right side. Using the pull-down menu you can select double-spaced or whatever you like, there are several choices. Once you've made your choice, click on the OK button. What is that you say? You aren't very fond of the menus and all the subsequent windows? Ok, then this is for those of you who prefer to use the keyboard—you can quickly turn on double spacing with Ctrl + 2. To go back to single spacing use Ctrl + 1 and, as a special added bonus, 1.5 line spacing is Ctrl + 5. Go to this URL. I followed the above steps and they work. http://www.worldstart.com/tips/tips.php/823

Another way to double-space your text is to highlight what you want double-spaced and then click Control, 2. To revert back to single space, click Control 1. To have your text at one and a half spaces, click Control 5. Make sure you highlight the text first.
