How much does a good acoustic guitar cost?

  thing one- ask around... friends, relatives, neighbors, etc.- people in your area who play. take someone whom you trust, who plays, with you to look around. thing two- look around. check for sales. compare. write things down. make lists. (don't just buy the first thing you see) your computer is a great way to get a feel for what you might like- and how much you're going to spend. thing three- it's generally a good idea to go with a brand name you've heard of. Fender, Gibson, Epiphone, Ovation, Ibanez, just to name a few. also- the larger 'chain' stores do a volume business, and therefore can have (usually) lower prices... they also may have 'kits'- a guitar that comes with a case and an instruction book or c.d., and a strap, or extra strings, or a tuner....etc. most of all- take your time. don't be in too great a hurry to listen to someone working on commission. best of luck- you are about to embark on a wonderful journey!
