How can I concentrate on reading?

How can I concentrate better when I am reading any kind of book? Also, how can I read faster when I am reading

What helps me, whether it's a story out of my SAT prep book or a novel for school, is to jot down notes to myself on a sheet of paper. Any key events or key people that would be helpful in comprehension. Plus if you take a break from reading for a day or two you can scan your notes to get back into the book. To increase speed, try to get all of your tasks for the day out of the way, that way when you sit down to read you have a clear mind.

Well you just have to be in a postion where you can concentrate better. And try listening to jazz or classical music it can help you concentrate a little better.

ok it depends on what you like... ican read in a room with music(classical) if its studies then i cant concentrate.. it has to be interesting. so find out something that is interesting about it. try really paying attention. put your self in the text and maybe you will want to know more...thenyou wont be able to stop yourself from reading it
