Why are the majority of people right-handed?

Why large majority people think that they are better then other cultures?

  • ....in America majority people think that other cultures are so barberic. But while other barberic cultures are beheading people, no one really points out barberic acts/behavior in US. Example, serial, brutal killers, cutting out fetuses from females womb, extreme violence against inmates, and many more violent, agressive acts.

    I think many Americans have not traveled and are not aware that there are other ways of doing things than just our way. I think that on balance we have the best way of life, but we're not perfect. Far from it. People just don't think, and don't know.

Tendency always to think your own culture is best --- totally mistaken. Betrays a narrow mind with a leaning to egoism. We ALL belong to the Human Race -- or do we ?

Very good point. I think it is so because in a larger (majority) group you have more people to agree with you. This builds more confidence that "your" way is the correct or best way. ie America is so large compared to other countries, and cultures. I know the Arab culture is very large, but just like America, the culture is split as well.

I think it's a sort of self-imposed form of xenophobia... fear of foreigners... that got worse after 9/11. It makes us feel superior to think of other cultures as barbaric. That attitude could also be used to justify our presence in conflicts we shouldn't be involved in. We have to stop judging an entire culture based on the actions of a few. We're all humans. We all have faults. We all have fears. Every culture has practices that could be called barbaric. The only thing we, as human beings, can do about it is to lead by example and try to do the right thing even when no one is looking. Peace to us all.
