How do you act when you are nervous?

When I get nervous when talking to people, I say weird things and act spacey.....?

  • I hate this!!! It's especially if I'm around a group and if I say something stupid, I get nervous. Then I REALLY get nervous, and say something so weird or I kind of space out, it just sets off a cycle. And I know they can tell I'm nervous. Please tell me I am not alone in this!

    Okay, first of all, you are not alone. Remember in social situations, and in all situations, you are your own worst critic. So you say you say weird things and act spacey, right? Well, to others, they may think its, cute, hence your name- cutie pie. Perhaps they are nervous also. If you think you are on this sputtering nervous cycle, take a deep breath and let someone else react to what you are saying instead of trying to "save" yourself from saying something else weird or spacey. Maybe someone will laugh at what you said and think you are cute and witty! Relax, we all have social anxieties sometimes.

you aren't, I have the same problem. I used to get very nervious when socializing iwht people. try to improve ur confidence and try not to get nervious. Nerviousness is the main factor in saying stupid things. Don't put to much pressure on ur self.

I used to do the same last year, so you're definitely not alone. But I moved last June and decided that people in the place I was moving to were going to have to accept me the way I was, and that they were going to have to deal with anything stupid that I might say as well. It's worked, but now a friend of mine's saying that I come over as overconfident. Whoops...

You're not alone! I get nervous talking to people all the time and go bright red, the only people i don't get really nervous with is people i've known for a while. I still havn't discovered what i can do about it, sometimes i'm happy just being myself and proud to say weird things no-one else has thought of! I say it's a sign of creativity, be proud to be different! + if you're a girl, it's never a bad thing to be cute, it's indearing!
