How can I read faster while comprehending?

I have trouble comprehending information, what could I do to improve it.?

• I have trouble comprehending information. When I read or when a person tells me something, it takes me longer to digest the information. This problem makes me struggle in college and at work. I have to seek special help at college so I can have my lecture material re-explained because I wasn’t able to “get it” in class. My homework is more stressful because it takes me longer to get it done because of my slow ability to digest information. I’m worried about getting fired from work (my well paying and enjoyed internship job) because of my inability to understand/comprehend new concepts I’m being trained to do. My speed to comprehend/digest information is my identified problem. Would could I do to improve my comprehension speed? Is there any mind exercises I can do? Also do you know any website I can go to find out more about this?

  First you may want to see a psychologist who could test you and then diagnose you with a learning disability (if it turns out that is the cause) and then you would be able to sign up for disability services through your college, which would allow you extra tutoring, and allow you to have the notes given to you so you could focus on the lecture and not writing while trying to stay focused on reading. In recent studies, Omega3 (basically fish oil) has been found to improve concentration and learning in a British study, so you may want to check into that possibility. It supposedly allows the brain to concentrate and comprehend better. Also search google for "learning disability" information, because many sites have tips and hints on ways to comprehend, and focus.
