Can World Currency, run by a World Government and World Central Bank work?

  • I always wondered this? I know the Euros didn't work because the countries within the Eurozone printed the money, instead of EU Central Bank. What if a world currency was printed by Central bank of a World Government? Can it work? What I'm asking s World Government and World Central bank work and Single World Currency work?

    Having recognized that a central banking facility didn't fare well in Europe you think that expanding ti to more geography would? On what basis? Government has repeatedly demonstrated incompetence. Big government simply makes the consequences huge.

I agree with SDD also Looking at the Greece crisis is an example. They are stuck on the euro, and their inability to change the price of their currency is hurting them. Usually a country will engage in expansionary monetary policy, so they can export out of a crisis.

Your suggestion will never work because, 1. It is not possible to have one Government for the World. 2.At present World Bank is working as the World central bank. 2. Once Paper money was suggested for exchange by J M Keynes for the all. It did not work. However similar system (SDR) is introduced by the IMF.

I agree. One place, to print all money. Only that way can we fairly judge inflation, and existing currency in circulation.... I like the thinking.
