What will be the possible economic impacts on China of holding the Olympic games in Beijing ?

  Usually Olympic games are very good to improve the image of a country or city and this can be turned in business, e.g. For starters: investment by the state in infrastructure (usually streets, airports, hotels, living areas)- this has an immediate effect on workforce, income, taxes, industry investment a.s.o. (China is growing at such a rapid rate that the Olympic games are only a minor dent, but in absolute numbers it is still true) Tourism: is already big but will become hhhhhhhuge ! (I traveled in China and it is beautiful ! 5000 years culture !) More investment coming from uproad (in the case of China a minor effect as everybody is already crazy to get there ...)
