Are California blackouts dangerous?

Would easing the legal monopoly of electric service help places with electric shortage (California)?

  • California can barely stand a summer without rolling blackouts. Would increasing electric service help? *I'm not saying there should be like 50 electric companies for one municipal. Obviously that's chaotic. But for example, Colorado Springs has ONE, ONE electric provider (separate facilities, there's one in Fountain but it's the SAME company). That's ridiculous, and how people complain about monopolies yet permit these electric/gas/water monopolies that rake profit by flaying people alive.

  • Answer:

The legal monopoly is controlled by the state - They make the rules. So, if you as a voter don't like the rules they have made, vote the suckers out of office....
