Why does the color of my eyes change?

Im curious of how i got Blue eyes and im Mexican? And WHy do they change color? ?

  • Hey, im a dude and im 16 and im curious to how i got blue eyes? They're blue and no other color. They change color though, like right now they are dark gray. they appear like green sometimes, but if u take a close look they're blue. Well im tanned, not white, and not black. I have black hair, and thats why i ask myself how i got blue eyes? Im not white or anything. My dad and mom have brown eyes and are tanned as well and just one of my brothers has really light green eyes (another mystery) and no one else in my mom's or dad's family have colored eyes. And i know im not adopted because i have my dad's nose and face structure and i have a birthmark in my leg just like my moms. How the hell did i come up with blue eyes??? seriously, how? and why the hell do they change color? they make people think i wear contacts. I Dont. And tellling from my dad's last name, Fotzagen, i can tell that he has some European ancestry. Thats what my history teacher said, he said that Fotzagen is Dutch. Well i really dont care its just words stuck onme.. Do you guys think its weird? WOuld any girls date me? i keep on thinking i look like a martian. Well it would be nice to know, so please help, and stuff. =D

    Genetics Dude. Pay attention in science class! You got bluegray green eyes due to recessive genes. Also do you have Amerind or European features? What part of Mexico did your parents come from? One with a lot of European or Mestizo occupants? Do you have Spanish ancestors? Did they come from northern Spain? Maybe you had Basque or Celtiberian or Visigoth ancestors way back? Read some history!

You are perfect and perfectly normal. You have what is called a recessive gene and actually you got it from either your mom or dad (or both). That's why you have a sib with green eyes. There's a strong likelihood that if you have say 4 kids - three will have brown eyes and 1 will have your eyes; assuming your mate has only the dominant gene for brown eyes. Don't fret - I can tell you, if the girls won't like those eyes there's number of guys who will ;)
