Please don't try to sound so gangsta. It doesn't work, and makes it very difficult to understand what you're trying to say. I guess I would have to say that if you can't hear the difference between your raps and theirs then you aren't listening hard enough. You've got to get into the rhythm and be able to ride with it, to use your words with it sometimes and against it others.... ie sometimes you'll want to end your line on the snare beat, sometimes you'll want to pause and end it right after the beat, sometimes right before. Each has a slightly different effect - to flow well you're going to need to be able to hear the difference and how to execute it consistently. So I would say start by learning how to use the english language well. A good mastery over it will enable you to use it in new and innovative ways. You are going to need to learn how to write to a beat.... one way that I really promote is to use a consistent syllable count. I normally advocate this approach to beginning songwriters, but it should work just as well for rapping. The basic idea is that you have a certain number of lines with the same number of syllables. This creates a foundation that will give you the ability to create a consistent rhythm. A very simple example: they follow the rims and throw the 'bows all crowd around where the money flows I could have a fleet of sixty fo's give 'em all away and buy some mo' (i'm loosely paraphrasing a buddy of mine) The basic idea is that each line has 9 syllables, and once you find a way to put one line to the beat, the rest follow naturally. As you grow more comfortable writing like this you can improvise off of it and add little stuff here and there and vary your syllable count, but the important thing is to lock in to the beat, and that's something you can only do with practice.... by forcing yourself to adhere to this early on you stretch yourself a little and that will make your overall lyrics a little tighter. Of course, this does take a bit of work.... pimpin' ain't easy.... *chuckle* I'm not a fan of "freestyle" because 90% of freestyle is crap.... too many artists seem to think that being able to come up with page after page of junk is somehow okay because they made it up on the spot. That's nice, but 16 good lines > pages of crap. Anyways, there's my two cents. PS I saw your question about having a relationship with a bipolar woman. My condolences... I'm bipolar, and even when I'm properly medicated, its hell being with me.... Saul

Just take it slow and practice.Be creative with how you say the words so it can fit the beat. And try doing it bit by bit instead of the whole song at once. As for freestyling, you can get better by rapping about your surroundings (simple stuff, things on your desk, people etc) then work your way up to other stuff. Hope this helps.
