What do you have to do to try out for cheerleading?

What should i do when my BEST FRIEND says try out for cheerleading with me?

  • I am in eigth grade and today we were givin high school course catalogs. While we were looking in them my best friend said, "You should try out for cheerleading with me next year." At first i was like r u serious? Cheerleading has never been a thought of something to do. She keeps saying if u were my best friend u would try out with me. I dont know if i should just suck it up and try out for the fun of it or if i should tell my best friend NO. Plz help me!

    I think cheerleading is high camp, hilarious, cute and actually surprisingly quite hard work learning routines, different pompom shakes, chants,etc. And you get to wear a mini skirt! Its not just a fluffy airhead activity i have an iq of 155, a degree in literature, and i am an artist too but i have a girly side and its great for exercise too! I say go for it girl and try out you never know you might like it as long as your friend will do things you like too as thats fair. Good luck

Tell her the truth. Try to explain to her that yo don't really want to do it. Be as honest as you can. If she is still mad, then just try out with her. You don't have to do a good job at tryouts and if you make the squad, then you don't have to accept the position. If she gets mad that you won't try out, then i would do it. Part of being a friend is making sacrifices and its not really worth it to break up a good relationship over cheerleading tryouts. A best friend is not a replaceable person. Hopefully this helps.

If you do not want to be a cheer leader, Don't do it. I have seen too many friendships break up, because one made cheer leader and one didn't. I doubt if your friend could handle it if you made it and she didn't.
