How do i become a great dancer?

  • even though i don't take dance lessons, i LOVE to dance!! But, I don't know how to become a GREAT dancer!!! i dance a lot at home. i want to become a GREAT dancer!! And i would like some advice on how to become a GREAT dancer!! please help me improve on my dance skills!!

    you're just like me I love to dance too.The way I learn is to watch people dance,whether it's on tv,youtube,or at a dance.but I don't just sit around and watch the videos,I dance with them or do similar moves and sometimes I'll record myself and see how I can improve.But remember,dance is a free form expression from your heart and feelings and you just let your body move.So just let loose with it :)

condition youreslf well by working out daily, eating a balanced diet, and always practice! its true that you need lots of time in the classroom but if you get a head start at home... you could buy the NYC Ballet workout dvd..it works wonders on toning your body for ballet :) and of course dance i hope this helps!!

You WON'T. You have not had DANCING LESSONS and you are TOO OLD TO START if you ever plan to be a professional. The one thing I have learned in all the years on stage is, EVERY FEMALE who comes up to the stage tells me she is 'DANCER".. It'a a FEMALE THIG to be a DANCER.. but the sad truth is THEY ARE NOT DANCERS.. not even CLOSE.. because THEY HAVE HAD NO TRAINING and it takes YEARS OF TRAINING and DEDICATION to be a PROFESSIONAL DANCER and people who think they are DANCERS with not training are just DELUSIONAL

Go to a dance studio and sign up for the type of dancing you wish to learn. They will advise you what type of shoe and clothing to wear. They will test you for your ability and place you in the proper class. The rest is up to you. Happy feet.
