Good quality trumpet at a low price?

I am looking to buy a second, or backup trumpet.?

  • I have and use a Bach Strad 37 trumpet right now. I like the trumpet but I need a second or backup trumpet with quality that I can use for marching band, backup or other things that could be harmful to my Bach. I found two trumpets that I liked and are in my price range but are these good? 1. Conn CONNstellation 52b- these are the modern ones, not the older ones. I like how it has a reverse leadpipe, and the modular valve weight system( things that my bach doesn't have), I could use those for jazz band. They cost about $1350 2.King Silver Flair- This has a thumb trigger(i don't prefer it). I can get the thumbe hook though. I can get this for about $1200. I like both horns but which one is better? Has anyone used it before? Thank you.

  • Answer:

Hi Smart Tell you one thing, that King Silver Flair has lots of value in the future and secondly, the tone is amazingly sweet and soft. I doubt Back or Conn can ever come close to this. I personally think it is one of the best sounding horns around. My trumpet player uses one.
