How to convince my parents to let me quit piano?

How to Quit Piano? Any suggestions?

  • I have taken piano for 11 years, and I HATE it now. My parents won't let me quit, however, and I really want to!!! It has gotten to the point where when it is time for my lesson, I get PHYSICALLY ILL!!! I get a fever, headache, and nausea, EVERY WEEK! How do I convince them to let me quit???

    Ask your parents why they won't let you quit. I had the same problem with a few things. Eventually I got to do what I wanted to do if I said I'd do another activity such as guitar. also, do you have a piano at home? if you do, maybe if you tell your parents you'll get on it every once in a while, they'll let you quit the lessons. but the first one if probably the best idea. convince them that you will be doing other things. and not just quitting everything all together just because you are tired of one thing.

Maybe you could just slack off on the lessons and refuse to learn anything. When they see they're paying money and getting nothing, they might wake up. Sigh. I would love to be able to play that most beautiful of musical instruments (other than female voice).

Don't practice, your parents will realize its not worth it. thats what i did when I was little, my parents made me move to other things like. Try to find new hobbies.They'll be happy your doing something.

just quit and explain to them why you want to quit...i'm sure they'll understand. find a new hobby, like you might want to try out for sports.

Start playing really suckey. And by suckey, I mean high c when you need low c and then maybe you're parents will make you quit.
