Is film school worth it?

Which school would be better to attend for a degree in film, L.A Film School or Cal State North-Ridge?

• I am currently attending junior college and am trying to make a decision, whether to go to L.A. film school or Cal state north-ridge. I have spoken to people that attend L.A film school and they have told me that they have a good curriculum if you are trying to become a director, which is what I want to become. They said that it's better because of the networking and the frequent opportunities to meet with important people in the industry, such as actors, producers, directors and such. I don't know anyone who has attended the film program at CSUN but it's alot cheaper than L.A film school and they offer a bachelors degree rather than an AS degree which is what L.A film school offers. So I'm kind of in a conundrum I just really need information and helpful advice on which school to go to. I know ultimately the school doesn't matter because I get what I put into it, but I still need some advice on which school can offer me a good education along with the capability of getting into the business. L.A film school Tuition: 40- 45k CSUN Tuition: 10k Traveling distance doesn't really matter because I live in the middle of both schools. And I can't attend UCLA or USC or any private schools because of my grades, I have a 2.7 GPA. Also if anyone knows of any other film programs at other Cal state schools or anywhere else that are really good please let me know. Except for Art institute I hate ART institute.   I know that LA Film School is more expensive, but in the end, the connections you make are the most important. The film industry is all about who you know. There's no saying that you can't go to CSUN and have a major career. It's all in the networking. In the end, it'll be up to you, but in my opinion, making those great connections is going to be extremely crucial to get your foot in the door.
